Paul Mooney has no buffer and tells it like it is. Like it or not. No sugar coating with him what so ever, he tells it how he sees it and how it is underneath the wool thats being pulled over your eyes.
Racism still exists and to be honest, I agree with the fact that it will always exist and as long as it exists, I hope there is a Paul Mooney to set the record straight, raw and uncut with no political correctness.
I understand why Nas reneged on his album title but imagine if he could convey everything Paul Mooney is saying into lyrics and over hot beats with the same album title, I think that message would have been way stronger and warrant that former album title.
As a New Yorker born and raised, if I could have it my way I would like to see NEW Twin Towers rebuilt where the old ones were. I never got to visit the WTC as a kid and being able to do that once in my lifetime even if they aren’t the original towers…especially if theyre not the original towers would be just as amazing to me. The sight of two new towers in the NYC skyline looking exactly the same and bringing it back to life would be the best thing ever.
I don’t really fuck with the Freedom Tower idea or design. That shit looks weaksauce. New and improved Twin Towers would be what I’d like to see not only to show everyone who looked at the iconic buildings as a symbol of America’s strength and show them we still have it but also show them we come back and we come back harder and stronger than before. Like Donald Trump said, build NEW Towers with an extra floor!

I see what their message is but it definitely gets lost in the shock value of the ad (kind of like what the album title would have done to the lyrics/messages on the Nas album had it still been called “Nigger”). I don’t think you can compare teenage sex and spade/neutering animals at all. Apples and Oranges.

Good Lord that was a long ass game. I went to the Nas event at Blender, got some food, came back and this shit was still going. Amazing. Well, at least I got here just in time to watch Mariano’s performance. I definitely need to invest in a Mo jersey before the year is over. That was good baseball to say the least. More history made at Yankee Stadium!

Had to be about a good 100 people packed in the backyard/performance area of ALIFE’s store which made it into an outdoor sweatbox which is an oxymoron but I was definitely sweating my ass off for a while in there even if it was outdoors. It was a great event though, Nas ripped it up on stage in between sips of the Vodka which if you mix with a couple L’s makes you start to forget some of your lyrics but fuck it, he still did his thing!

Josh Hamilton dominated the Home Run Derby tonight in Yankee Stadium. I’ve never seen a ball hit to the back of the right field bleechers before. That was amazing. Too bad I missed watching it live or at the stadium but whatev, he did his thing. 28 HR’s in the first round alone (new record). Homie only has 21 HR’s the first half of the season lol.
